Maddie Uryasz
Maddie Uryasz is the new Anti-Trafficking and Advocacy Engagement Coordinator for the Nebraska Alliance. In this role, Maddie is responsible for supporting the development of statewide anti-trafficking initiatives, coordinating trainings, offering technical assistance and support, and coordinating advocacy projects all for the Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) throughout Nebraska to aid with maintaining national accreditation.
Prior to joining the Nebraska Alliance, Maddie was an Anti-Trafficking Youth Specialist at Project Harmony where she worked one-on-one with victim/survivors of human trafficking. In this role, she worked closely with the Omaha Police Department and community partners to provide trafficked youth with case management, safety planning, advocacy, and community referrals. Prior to entering the child welfare field, she studied at the University of Nebraska Omaha researching human trafficking and teaching undergraduate courses. She holds a master’s degree in criminology and criminal justice. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, traveling, teaching courses for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and catching live sports games.
